Four More Years: TVTV at Conversations at the Edge

Conversations at the Edge (CATE) is a weekly series of screenings, artist talks, and performances by compelling media artists, organized by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Department of Film, Video, New Media and Animation in collaboration with the Gene Siskel Film Center and Video Data Bank.

This semester, we are happy to co-present Four More Years by TVTV. Video collective TVTV defined the radical video documentary movement of the 1970s. Four More Years is an iconoclastic view of the American electoral process, captured through TVTV's irreverent, candid coverage of Richard Nixon's 1972 presidential campaign and the Republican Convention in Miami. TVTV cofounder Allen Rucker will introduce this classic work, and will be joined for the Q&A by former TVTV member Tom Weinberg. 1972, U.S., DVD, ca. 75 minutes + discussion
